Dottie has been a self-employed people consultant for over 10 years. She’s provided coaching services for a wide array of organisations, including government, Iwi and community sectors.  She regularly consults on executive recruitment and mentors people practitioners and allies on building their own and their organisations’ cultural courage and competence.

Dottie believes that coaching is a space of potentiality and can help crack many of life’s challenges and fuel career trajectories. Her approach is ‘one size-fits one’, with a special skill in identifying people’s strengths and coaching them to build their understanding of how to leverage these in a generative way. Deeply optimistic, she is ardently uplifting and engages with heart, authenticity, and a healthy dose of humour.

Dottie has distinctive experience working for and with Iwi Māori as well as senior management human resource and governance experience. These roles have given her practical insights into managing politicised and ambiguous contexts, organisational tensions and change management.

Dottie also strong networks with a wide range of Māori and iwi representatives and experience in navigating cultural taxation of staff, systemic racism and advancing equity.

She has a Master of Management in Human Resources and is an accredited CliftonStrengths Coach - Top 5, Partnerships and Team. She’s gained a Professional Mentoring and Workplace Coaching Skills Certificate (Unitec) and is progressing towards associate certified coach (International Coaching Federation).
