Jemma began her career at the Department of Corrections facilitating therapeutic programmes for offenders. Following time as an in-house trainer and in formal leadership roles she moved to specialise in leadership development at Fire & Emergency New Zealand (FENZ). During her time at FENZ she facilitated and designed programmes for staff and volunteers.
In 2019, Jemma joined the Leadership Development Centre, where she was responsible for designing and piloting the New People Leader, New Leader of Leaders and New Senior System Leader programmes.
In 2022, Jemma began facilitating and coaching full-time across the public and private sector for her own consulting company.
Jemma has a warm and interactive style of facilitation, focused heavily on application of content. She draws her energy and motivation from seeing and hearing participants make concrete changes based on their learning.
With 17 years in the Public Service and just over 3 years in the Public Service Commission, Jemma has a solid grounding and appreciation of the work of the public sector.
This direct experience is supported by a coaching certification from the Neuroleadership Group, certifications in the Immunity to Change methodology, Hogan’s and Team Management Inventory as well as a B Comm (Management), and a BA (Psychology and Education).
